Is this the court reporting we want?
December 19th, 2006The police have not named either of the suspects in the Suffolk murder case. This morning all the newspapers I looked at, not only named the first man, but they included hundreds of words from everyone they could find who knew him.
A second suspect was arrested earlier today. The Times and the Daily Mail have named him. The Sun named him and asked its readers to ring them if they knew him. So far The Guardian and the Daily Telegraph have stuck to what I thought were the rules. Not naming suspects the police take in for questioning until the police are ready to make charges.
Am I the only person left who is worried about this kind of thing?
